Barre Art Center is a welcoming space where children (8yrs +), teens, and adults can explore, and develop their artistic abilities. Our mission is to preserve the historic legacy of a Barre, MA landmark while creating a safe space for the community to explore creativity and healing through the arts, guided by experienced local professional artists. Through exposure of a variety of mediums and learning experiences, we inspire individuals to discover their creative potential, connect with others, and grow both personally and artistically.

The Barre Art Center offers curated workshops that are designed for children (8+) and adults. Each session is engaging and inspiring, allowing guests to explore different mediums, techniques, and seasonal themes in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

What makes our studio special is the experience itself. Hosted in an intimate, home-based setting with a cafe in the works and intentionally designed to feel personal, elevated, and creatively fulfilling. We believe art should be accessible, enjoyable and something you look forward to.

Our experienced instructors are passionate, encouraging each guest, regardless of skill level. Whether you're here to learn something new, unwind, or simply enjoy a creative moment, we’re here to make that experience memorable.

Barre Art Center is founded by Susan Mason — a renown retired 40 year wedding photographer, inspiring writer, creator and mentor — the Barre Art Center opens its doors to all, near and far, who seek a space to create and connect.

With a deep passion for creativity and connection, Susan envisioned and created a boutique art center, where art feels approachable, expressive, and truly enjoyable. She prides herself on pouring her heart into creating something meaningful not only for her family, but for her community
